DON'TS

1)

Do always handle and store wheels in a careful manner.

1)

Don't use a wheel that has been dropped.

2)

Do visually inspect all wheels before mounting for possible damage in transit, and again before remounting.

2)

Don't force a wheel on to the machine or alter the size of the mounting hole-if a wheel won't fit the machine, get one that will.

3)

Do check maximum operating speed established for wheel against machine speed.

3)

Don't ever exceed maximum operating speed on wheels.

4)

Do check mounting flanges for equal and correct diameter and clean surfaces.

4)

Don't use mounting flanges on which the bearing surfaces are not clean and flat.

5)

Do dial indicate abrasive rim section to within .001 inch. TIR, or less.

5)

Don't grind with a diamond wheel that is out of truth-the work or the wheel may be damaged.

6)

Do true abrasive rim section with either a brake controlled or power driven tool, with wheel mounted on the machine.

6)

Don't use a diamond tool to true a diamond wheel - damage to matrix may occur.

7)

Do hand dress abrasive rim section with soft, abrasive stick after #5 and #6 are performed.

7)

Don't use a diamond wheel that does not have a good particle exposure-chip clearance is essential to avoid excessive heat build-up.

8)

Do always use a guard.

8)

Don't start the machine until the wheel guard is in place.

9)

Do allow newly mounted wheels to run at operating speed, with guard in place, for at least one minute before grinding.

9)

Don't stand directly in front of a grinding wheel whenever a grinder is started.

10)

Do always wear safety glasses or some type of eye protection when grinding.

10)

Don't jam work into the wheel.

11)

Do use grinding coolants whenever possible.

11)

Don't grind on the side of the wheel unless wheel is designed for side grinding.
